Footballers with a different side to their profession

It often takes time for people to understand their potential. People at certain situations associate themselves with various activities until they find the one which actually suits them. There are many cases where a person would start with some profession but ends up with some other. Now, this is not uncommon and happens to people of different walks of life. Footballers often undergo through certain circumstances where they choose some other job before they realise what they really love. The football industry has seen various scenes similar to this and some of the top footballers of now and then have been a part of this journey.
Didier Drogba
Didier Drogba is a prominent name in the football industry and has graced Chelsea with his massive performances and sky rocketing goals. However, his thoughts about football were not the same when he was 21 years old. He felt that he would nave it to the professional level as a footballer. He even turned down various offers coming from big clubs and dedicated himself to a full time accountant. He started studying but soon he realised where his potential laid, he quit the university and now he is keeping an account of his goals.
Socrates
Remember Socrates? The Captain of Brazil in 1982 before he made passes to Zico and Falcao this man had some other career choice. He planned to graduate as a doctor but destiny had some other story for him. But after retiring from football, the humanitarian in him started doing well for the society as a doctor and even protested against the military dictatorship in Brazil before he died a tragic death.
Phil Neville
Phil Neville was one of the popular names in football and has made a great appearance in playing and managing the activities of soccer. But while he was growing up, he was battling his way out in cricket in the U-15 level. He was the youngest cricketer to be selected in the Lancashire reserve team. He played alongside Andrew Flintoff in the U-19 level but his role somehow changed when Alex Ferguson chose this prodigy for some other sport.
Zlatan Ibrahimovick
Zlatan Ibrahimovick is a big name in this generation of football and has always surprised the audience with some of the most impossible goal scores. But his childhood had some other story to tell. He started taking taekwondo classes as a child and even received a black belt post his training. According to sources it is said that if Zlatan would have concentrated on taekwondo as he did in football he would have broken the records in it.
Miroslav Klose
Miroslav Klose is one of the highest goal scorers in the Fifa world cup who also had some other career before he realised his knack. At 19 years, he started taking lessons to become a full time carpenter. However, he was also training as an amateur footballer in the seventh division of the German league. But on the first day of training he was sent home saying that it would be better if he chose some other profession. But fate had a different story as he got selected for Kaiserlauten at 22 years; Klose dedicated his life only to football since then.
