Top scorers in the UEFA Championship

Footballers always try to make a mark in the hearts of their fans. History remembers them for their core determination, passion and massive goal scoring records. The UEFA European championship grabs the second position after the World cup in terms of popularity. The tournament initially used to feature 16 teams from Europe which has been extended to 24 in 2016.  The tournament holds massive records of goals which come from various teams across Europe and have made the game even more enthralling.
Wayne Rooney
The track record begins with Wayne Rooney who is a prominent figure of Manchester United and has also given a spectacular performance in the UEFA. His outstanding performance during UEFA 2014 against Portugal is considered as one of the best debut performances in the UEFA history. He made a score of five goals out of 6 matches and was the youngest player to score in the tournament.
Nuno Gomes
Nuno Gomes has the passion for playing and scoring goals for his club and country and his track record definitely proves that. His international debut was indeed a spectacular one and has scored six goals out of 14 matches. His first international score was in Netherlands at the UEFA Euro 200 tournament.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the famous icons of the football industry and has earned massive success in his career. His highest goal tally was recorded in 2008 when he scored three goals. His goal records stand at 6 goals in 14 matches. During 2004 he scored two goals in the tournament which gave his team a huge boost at the moment.
Thierry Henry
Thierry Henry has been one of the best strikers in the industry and ended his career as the leading scorer for Arsenal.  He helped the French National team to win the Fifa World Cup in 1998. He scored 6 goals out of 11 matches and during his first appearance in UEFA he scored thrice. He was the one to score the only goal for France in 2008.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been the best strikers that the world has seen. He has impressed the world with his spectacular goals and improved performance. His records show six goals out of 10 matches and have been an active player who keeps on surprising the audience with his performances. He scored twice for each campaign in the UEFA and continues to add goals to the charts.
Patrick Kluivert
Patrick Kluivert was known for his extremely good striker abilities and made six goals out of 9 matches in the UEFA tournament. However, his tenure did not continue for long due to the incoming injuries. During his debut he missed the first two games but he played during the final one and helped him to get through the knockout.
Alan Shearer
Alan Shearer has created a record in his career as a striker and scored 7 goals in 9 matches. He made his debut in 1992 and he rarely failed to score in the tournament. By 1996, he earned one of the biggest spots in football. He bagged the Golden Boot Award for his outstanding performance.
