Know about Serie A Top Scorers in 2015/16 Season

Serie A campaign of 2015/16 is almost in the mid stage, with the second phase to start after winter vacation. The defending champion in the highest level of Italian league system is Juventus but they have failed to ensure a good start to the ongoing campaign, Inter Milan are currently leading the league table while the Old Lady are pushed to the 4th spot. However, it is the star attacker from Napoli to top the Serie A chart of goalscorers. Let us take a quick look at the SerieA top scorers.
Napoli striker Gonzalo HiguaĆn leads the chart after netting 9 goals till date this season. However, he shares the top berth with Sampdoria star Eder. Closely following them is Fiorentina forward Nikola Kalinic who has grabbed 7 goals so far. Gervinho of AS Roma, Lorenzo Insigne of Napoli and Carlos Bacca of AC Milan have bagged 6 goals each and share the fourth spot on the Serie A table of top scorers. On-loan Roma winger Mohamad Salah has notched up six goals, equaling the feat of both Juventus youngster Paulo Dybala and Roma’s creative player Miralem Pjanic.
Higuain has been in good form this season and his performance has caught attention of several top European clubs that want to land him to end the problem in front of the goalmouth. However, the Argentina international has reportedly ascertained that he would love to be in Naples despite pouring interest from Premier League. Dybala was signed from Palermo this summer transfer window and has adapted himself well at Turin. According to reports, his performance has not gone unnoticed by other heavyweights in Europe and they are very much interested to land him.
It is less likely for the Bianconeri to allow him to move away in the mid of the season when they need service of a proven attacker in their frontline. Lazio striker Felipe Anderson has been linked to Premier League interest for several months. The Brazilian has scored 4 goals this season. Josip Ilicic of Fiorentina has also netted the same number of goals. Sampdoria player Roberto Soriano has also bagged 4 goals till date this campaign. Mauro Icardi of Inter Milan has failed to be in his peak form and managed to find the back of the net only three times.
Despite his not-so-good performance, he has invited attention from several elite sides, especially from the Premier League.

Man City and Liverpool win but tension in Chelsea camp

Man City registered a convincing win as they beat Southampton on Sunday. While Man City completely dominated Southampton as the full time score line of 3 – 1 suggests, Manchester United could only manage a 1 – 1 draw against Leicester. England forward Jamie Vardy made history as he struck the first goal for Leicester. His 24th minute goal made him part history as he scored for the 11 consecutive English Premier League matches. If it was not for Bastian Schweinsteiger’s equaliser in the 46th minute, Man United would have been staring into defeat. On Sunday, Arsenal managed to beat Swansea 1 – 0 but dark clouds are still gathered above the Chelsea camp.As Jose Mourinho went on to play without main striker Diego Costa, the match against the Spurs ended in a goalless draw. Amidst a lot of on-going tension in the camp, the decision of dropping their disgruntled striker backfired on Mourinho. All is not well in the blues camp as frustrations and rifts are coming out in public. They need to win big time to gain important points and most importantly, gain back their lost confidence.

Real Madrid back to winning ways as Barca remains too hot to handle

In  La Liga , Barcelona thrashed Real Sociedad 4 – 0 on Saturday. The Catalan Giants were on fire at Camp Nou as Brazilian star Neymar scored the first goal at the 22nd minute and another one to complete his 14th goal of the season. Suarez chipped in with a goal as Leo Messi scored the final goal in stoppage time. Barca was no short of confidence as they carried the momentum from their El Classico match. While Barca carried forward the momentum, Real Madrid made a strong and much needed come back against Eider after their El Classico fiasco. Gareth Bale’s header before half time and Ronaldo’s penalty in the 82nd minute made sure that the score line read 2 – 0 at full time. This win will give the Madrid boys a much needed confidence.
