Serie A campaign
of 2015/16 is almost in the mid stage, with the second phase to start after
winter vacation. The defending champion in the highest level of Italian league
system is Juventus but they have failed to ensure a good start to the ongoing
campaign, Inter Milan are currently leading the league table while the Old Lady
are pushed to the 4th spot. However, it is the star attacker from
Napoli to top the Serie A chart of goalscorers. Let us take a quick look at the
SerieA top scorers.
Napoli striker Gonzalo
HiguaĆn leads the chart after netting 9 goals till date this season. However,
he shares the top berth with Sampdoria star Eder. Closely following them is
Fiorentina forward Nikola Kalinic who has grabbed 7 goals so far. Gervinho of
AS Roma, Lorenzo Insigne of Napoli and Carlos Bacca of AC Milan have bagged 6
goals each and share the fourth spot on the Serie A table of top scorers. On-loan
Roma winger Mohamad Salah has notched up six goals, equaling the feat of both
Juventus youngster Paulo Dybala and Roma’s creative player Miralem Pjanic.
Higuain has been in good form this season and
his performance has caught attention of several top European clubs that want to
land him to end the problem in front of the goalmouth. However, the Argentina
international has reportedly ascertained that he would love to be in Naples
despite pouring interest from Premier League. Dybala was signed from Palermo
this summer transfer window and has adapted himself well at Turin. According to
reports, his performance has not gone unnoticed by other heavyweights in Europe
and they are very much interested to land him.
It is less likely for the Bianconeri to allow
him to move away in the mid of the season when they need service of a proven
attacker in their frontline. Lazio striker Felipe Anderson has been linked to
Premier League interest for several months. The Brazilian has scored 4 goals
this season. Josip Ilicic of Fiorentina has also netted the same
number of goals. Sampdoria player Roberto Soriano has also bagged 4 goals till
date this campaign. Mauro Icardi of Inter Milan has failed to be in his peak
form and managed to find the back of the net only three times.
Despite his not-so-good performance, he has
invited attention from several elite sides, especially from the Premier League.
