Know about Serie A Top Scorers in 2015/16 Season

Serie A campaign of 2015/16 is almost in the mid stage, with the second phase to start after winter vacation. The defending champion in the highest level of Italian league system is Juventus but they have failed to ensure a good start to the ongoing campaign, Inter Milan are currently leading the league table while the Old Lady are pushed to the 4th spot. However, it is the star attacker from Napoli to top the Serie A chart of goalscorers. Let us take a quick look at the SerieA top scorers.
Napoli striker Gonzalo HiguaĆn leads the chart after netting 9 goals till date this season. However, he shares the top berth with Sampdoria star Eder. Closely following them is Fiorentina forward Nikola Kalinic who has grabbed 7 goals so far. Gervinho of AS Roma, Lorenzo Insigne of Napoli and Carlos Bacca of AC Milan have bagged 6 goals each and share the fourth spot on the Serie A table of top scorers. On-loan Roma winger Mohamad Salah has notched up six goals, equaling the feat of both Juventus youngster Paulo Dybala and Roma’s creative player Miralem Pjanic.
Higuain has been in good form this season and his performance has caught attention of several top European clubs that want to land him to end the problem in front of the goalmouth. However, the Argentina international has reportedly ascertained that he would love to be in Naples despite pouring interest from Premier League. Dybala was signed from Palermo this summer transfer window and has adapted himself well at Turin. According to reports, his performance has not gone unnoticed by other heavyweights in Europe and they are very much interested to land him.
It is less likely for the Bianconeri to allow him to move away in the mid of the season when they need service of a proven attacker in their frontline. Lazio striker Felipe Anderson has been linked to Premier League interest for several months. The Brazilian has scored 4 goals this season. Josip Ilicic of Fiorentina has also netted the same number of goals. Sampdoria player Roberto Soriano has also bagged 4 goals till date this campaign. Mauro Icardi of Inter Milan has failed to be in his peak form and managed to find the back of the net only three times.
Despite his not-so-good performance, he has invited attention from several elite sides, especially from the Premier League.

Sunderland AFC looking to consolidate its position in the English Premier League

The Sunderland Association Football Club has been playing in the premier league for a long time and has an impressive record of 6 title wins. But in recent times they have failed to perform consistently at the top league of the country. Their last title in the premier league came way back in 1936. The club, now 136 years old, needs some good fortunes if it has to perform the way it did in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Read more to find out more facts about Sunderland A. F. C. and their rich legacy in English football.
Sunderland A. F. C. has been around in the English football circle since a very long time. The club was founded in 1879 by James Allan who was a school master then and the club was named ‘Sunderland and District Teachers Association Football Club’ when founded. The 136 year old team nicknamed ‘the black cats’ have been carrying the Sunderland name with great pride an honor.

Sunderland in the Premier League

Sunderland A. F. C. is currently playing in the Barclay’s English Premier League which is not only England’s top league but also one of the best leagues in the world. They have won the F A cup twice, winning their first one in 1937 against Preston North End by 3 – 1 and the second in 1973 against Leeds United by 1 – 0. They also have the remarkable record of winning the First Division title which is now the Premier League a staggering six times. They won the first two titles consecutively in the years 1892 and 1893 and then in 1895, 1902, 1913 and 1936. Only six teams have won more titles than Sunderland A. F. C.  They did not lay at the top level for very long time but has been promoted only in 2007 for playing in the premier league. The Sunderland brand has been valued at 93 million U.S. Dollars in 2014 making tem the 31st most valuable club in the world
The club’s current home ground is called the ‘stadium of light’ with a capacity of 49,000. But RokerPark was the longest serving home stadium for the club serving ‘the black cats’ for a period of 99 years.
Sunderland A. F. C. is in dire needs of a good striker especially after their last game against Watford. They are said to be going after 21 year old French striker Sebastian Haller. The 6’ 2’ French striker has been very impressive in recent times and has an asking price of 6 million which the Sunderland officials are not very eager to spend. Meanwhile Norwich is also negotiating for Haller and the two clubs are locked in a battle to acquire the French striker.

Man City and Liverpool win but tension in Chelsea camp

A lot of important matches took place this week in all the major leagues. While Barcelona crushed Real Sociedad in a 4 – 0 win, Spanish giants Real Madrid came back strongly with a 2 – 0 win against Eibar after the El Classico debacle on Sunday in La Liga. Dortmund registered a 4 – 1 crushing victory against Stuttgart on Sunday, while Hamburg and Bayern Munich register wins in the BundesLiga. Liverpool managed to win 1 – 0 against Swansea on Sunday and Manchester City beat Southampton 3 – 1 on Saturday while Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United could only manage draws. A c Milan beat Sampdoria 4 – 1 on Saturday and Juventus beat Palermo 3 – 0 on Sunday in the Italian Serie A. All in all it has been quite an exciting week in the world of football. Read our detailed football news to find out more.

Man City and Liverpool win but tension in Chelsea camp

Man City registered a convincing win as they beat Southampton on Sunday. While Man City completely dominated Southampton as the full time score line of 3 – 1 suggests, Manchester United could only manage a 1 – 1 draw against Leicester. England forward Jamie Vardy made history as he struck the first goal for Leicester. His 24th minute goal made him part history as he scored for the 11 consecutive English Premier League matches. If it was not for Bastian Schweinsteiger’s equaliser in the 46th minute, Man United would have been staring into defeat. On Sunday, Arsenal managed to beat Swansea 1 – 0 but dark clouds are still gathered above the Chelsea camp.As Jose Mourinho went on to play without main striker Diego Costa, the match against the Spurs ended in a goalless draw. Amidst a lot of on-going tension in the camp, the decision of dropping their disgruntled striker backfired on Mourinho. All is not well in the blues camp as frustrations and rifts are coming out in public. They need to win big time to gain important points and most importantly, gain back their lost confidence.

Real Madrid back to winning ways as Barca remains too hot to handle

In  La Liga , Barcelona thrashed Real Sociedad 4 – 0 on Saturday. The Catalan Giants were on fire at Camp Nou as Brazilian star Neymar scored the first goal at the 22nd minute and another one to complete his 14th goal of the season. Suarez chipped in with a goal as Leo Messi scored the final goal in stoppage time. Barca was no short of confidence as they carried the momentum from their El Classico match. While Barca carried forward the momentum, Real Madrid made a strong and much needed come back against Eider after their El Classico fiasco. Gareth Bale’s header before half time and Ronaldo’s penalty in the 82nd minute made sure that the score line read 2 – 0 at full time. This win will give the Madrid boys a much needed confidence. South-American rivals Brazil and Argentina settle for draw in World Cup qualifier

The World Cup qualifier match between Brazil and Argentina that was initially supposed to take place on Saturday had to be postponed owing to torrential rainfall, ended in a hardly fought draw.
The eternal rivals from South America locked horns in their World Cup qualifying campaign where each of the teams managed a single point as they played out a draw but the match was filled with drama and a lot of excitement especially in the second half of the match.

Arch rivals settle for draw

The Brazilian national football team has lacked the consistency and flamboyance that the teams from the country have boasted of over the years. They were struggling to keep up with the Argentine team that lacked key players like Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero. Angel Di Maria and Ezequiel Lavezzi played an excellent first half as the latter clinched a goal in the 34th minute. Brazil increased their pace in the second half with a few crucial substitutions. Lucas Lima’s 58th minute strike cancelled the lead but the Argentines came very close to pulling one back. David Luiz was shown a red card which increased the tension in the visting team camp during the last few minutes of the match, but no harm was done finally. Brazil seemed to be happy to steal a draw where their star Neymar failed to impress the football pundits.

The world cup qualifying pool of South America remains wide open

The South American qualifying group remains a quite competitive one with Brazil placed at fifth position and Argentina at eighth. The top spots will be up for grabs as it will make the road to the World Cup seamless for the teams. The fans are looking forward to some very competitive matches in this group. With teams like Uruguay and Colombia in the frame the task seems cut out for each and everyone.

United triumphant with 2-0 win as City fail to score against Aston Villa

There have been some wonderful matches this week in the English Premier League.  With Manchester united winning 2-0 and two very tough and battling draws by Manchester City and Arsenal were the highlights of this week’s Premier league Football newsManchester city remaining goalless against a team like Aston Villa is bound to raise some questions. So keep reading to get further information on how things turned out for English football this week. Do check out the top stories.

United beat West Bromwich 2-0

In a game which turned out to be a happy one for Louis Van Gaal, Jesse Lingard scored his first goal for Manchester United at the 52nd minute giving his team a handsome edge over West Bromwich Albion. He was joined by teammate Juan Mata scoring from a penalty in added time. This 2-0 win over West Bromwich propels the club to the fourth place but lagging behind only by a point from joint leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.
In other matches, Leichester City which was at third place in the tables beat Watford 2-1 at home. Norwich beat Swansea 1-0 with Howson scoring at the 70th minute. Everton came from behind and drew 1-1 with West Ham after Lukaku equalised just before half time.

City fails to find the nets, draws against Aston Villa

In what was a rather disappointing show of football, Manchester City, the board leaders, remained goalless against a club like Aston Villa which is at the bottom of the table. Their shortage of strikers was rather prominent and brutally exposed after they couldn’t seem to find the net in Sunday’s game. With Sterling and Fernando wasting chances and with the continued absence of Sergio Aguero, a rather grand opportunity to consolidate themselves at the top of the table was wasted. It also marked the end of Aston Villa’s streak of seven defeats with Remi Garde, villa’s new manager winning a point in his very first game.
Crystal palace beat Liverpool 2-1 at Antfieldas Coutinho’s equaliser before half time went in vain. Scott Dann’s brilliant 82nd minute goal took the game away from Liverpool quite convincingly. This ended Juergen Klopp’s unbeaten streak as manager of Liverpool.

Arsenal come back from behind to draw game with Tottenham

In the other big game this Sunday in the Emirates, Arsenal managed to draw 1-1 with Tottenham after a wonderful comeback with an equaliser from Kieran Gibbs in the second half. Earlier Tottenham seemed to be bubbling with confidence when Harry Kane scored a goal at the 32nd minute. There were some very nervous moments for the Gunner’s fans after the 1-0 lead continued for a long time. It was when Gibbs scored a beautiful goal at the 77th minute, that the Arsenal fans were able to breathe a sigh of relief thus scripting a wonderful comeback. But the draw meant that the gunners would have to wait more before taking over as leaders.

Man United and City Play out Draw – A Review

Manchester City tops the Premier League ranking despite their goalless draw with their rivals United in a derby at Old Trafford. Both had a golden chance to win the top-of-the-table-clash but none of them rose up to occasion and ended on a goalless note for the third time in their Premier League meeting till date. Let us now take a hard look at how Man United and City play out draw.

Dull Show

Man City had to play without Sergio Aguero and that created a significant void which Wilfried Bony failed to fill in. Yaya Toure was given jersey No 10 but he could not justify coach Manuel Pellegrini’s faith in him. United failed to prove they were a better side than their city competitor. With just 10 minutes to go, they conjured some magic but that did not change the fate of the match. United skipper Wayne Rooney could not find the back of the net and needed stapling of his head following a clash with Vincent Kompany.

A Jesse Lingard shot rattled the woodwork while Chris Smalling tested Joe Hart. However, the travelling keeper was not put through the paces except in those two occasions.. Rooney tried to produce an ignited show by threatening the travelers’ defence. Toure brought down the England international but narrowly escaped warning. Juan Mata cried for a penalty when the ball hit Fernandinho's arm. However, referee Mark Clattenburg did not pay attention to his call.

The Brazil international challenged Anthony Martial and was booked for his offence. Martial was an exception in the hosts’ team as he was the only player to unleash threat in the first half.  The France international was awarded a free-kick after his clever trick against Bacary Sagna but the home side failed to make a good use of it. With Valencia undergoing treatment for his injury, Rooney jumped to the touchline. Blood was oozing out of his head after he collided with Kompany. The medical staff rushed to the spot and stapled his wound.

Toure squandered two half chances before the interval but otherwise, City offered little threat to Man U. Marcos Rojo did a good job as he gave no space to Kevin De Bruyne. Former Liverpool star Raheem Sterling never looked to be in his elements and proved very ineffective for City. Coach Pellegrini took him off the ground and introduced Jesus Navas in the second half. Marouane Fellaini and Lingard arrived to represent United whereas City launched Martin Demichelis to replace Toure who was an utter disappointment for the citizens.

Man United and City play out draw – Last few minutes

However, their introduction did nothing to change the texture or color of the match and none of them could make a breakthrough. Mata managed to break through the travelling defence line and it left City panicky though Hurt was able to frustrate the Spain international. Lingard thought to have hit the net with just five minutes to go. Martial collected the ball from Navas but his shot went over Hurt but only to hit the crossbar ahead of sailing away to safety.

Premier League Results – Latest News

Premier League of 2015/16 season is to enter into its 9th week. The domestic leagues in Europe are paused due to UEFA Champions League qualification matches as well as European Leagues from time to time. After 8 weeks of English Premier League, Chelsea have failed to drive themselves back from the brink of doomsday. They have surprisingly a nightmarish start to this season. They have not fared well even in the Champions league either and got a beating during their away match with Porto. Let us do a quick check on the latest Premier League results.

Chelsea bows to Saints

Chelsea now have collection of only eight points out of maximum 24 points. Last week, they were visited by Southampton but the home crowd did not change their fate. They fell miserably to the visitors following a 3-1 result. The hosts never seemed to be at ease and the travelling side capitalized on their shaky opponents.

Gunners blow Man U away

Manchester United was humiliated by Arsenal in the 8th week. The Gunners won as a far better side and the Red Devils, truly speaking, were reduced to rabbles. It took Arsenal just 20 minutes to score three goals, none of which was responded by Louis Van Gaal’s side. Man U never seemed to be in their elements whereas Arsene Wenger’s team brilliantly took the energy out of their rivals. Manager Wenger was frustrated over his team’s last few performances but surely got an energetic boost after his boys came off victorious in an emphatic fashion.

Reds draw with Toffees

That sharing of points cost Brendan Rodgers his managerial job at Anfield. He was immediately sacked and now former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has been announced as the new coach for the Reds. The German has an uphill task to complete and is likely to approach his former club to capture some high-profile players during winter transfer window. The Toffees played like a better side in the match.

Other Results

Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City shared pointes between them. The match ended in a 2-0 truce. In a word, Premier League results are good for some heavyweights.

Chelsa Lost in Champions League – A Closer Inspection

Nothing is going right for Chelsea. It seems to be doomsday for the Blues on both domestic and international platforms. They have a very frustrating start to this season and suffering seems to have no end for them. In their recent Champions League outing, Chelsea have lost in their meeting with Porto. With both Arsenal and Chelsea lost in Champions League competition, the football pundits are raising doubts over English club’s European aspiration.
The hosts earned the lead as Andre volleyed home after an effort by Yacine Brahimi was pushed away.
However, Chelsea responded as playmaker Willian put the travelers on level just before the interval. He produced a superb free-kick just right from the edge of the box. The hosts restored the lead once again, this time, via Maicon. He whipped up a header that curled into the net from the front woodwork.

Diego Costa flicked a curled shot but it only rattled the crossbar. Former Barcelona player Pedro and ex-Arsenal captain make efforts only to see those parried away by their Spain teammate Iker Casillas who was playing record number of 152 matches in the European competition. The Blues built up pressure but that was limited to early in the first half. They claimed for a late penalty on the ground of an Ivan Marcano handball.

However, the English side returned home without a victory and anything memorable.

Mourinho magic losing power

The critics are of the view that Mourinho magic that worked last season and earned Chelsea the domestic crown seems to be effective no longer. Eden Hazard, the PFA player of the year, was axed from the visiting squad and that surprised many fans and pundits. It was believed that Mourinho did not want him in his team as the Belgium international is struggling to reinvent his form.

On-loan forward Radamel Falcao could not make it the bench against a team both he and Mourhinho had a spell with. However, it was the Blues’ backline that troubled them most. The Stamford Bridge side conceded the second most Premier League goals this season. However, they also failed to assault their opponents, no matter whether it is in the domestic league or European arena.

Premier League News – Everton Humbles Defending Champions

Chelsea is now in a real trouble. They have already lost the same number of matches till date this season that they lost throughout their last Premier League campaign. On Saturday, they succumbed shamelessly to Everton at Goodison Park, with the Toffees hammering the Blues’ pride by a 3-1 result.
After the match, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho lost his cool and lambasted Everton coach Roberto Martinez with foul words.  Here is Premier League news from Chelsea vs Everton.

Naismith – The Hero of the Match

Steven Naismith scored a hat-trick to help the Toffees dent the guests’ pride. He came in as a substitute for injured Muhamed Besic and assaulted twice in quick succession.
Nemanja Matic halved the gap with his brilliant strike but the travelling side failed to post an equalizer while the scoreline was embellished by the Scot with only eight minutes to go.
John Stones was anchored in the first team. The England international was the subject of Chelsea’s interest and the Stamford Bridge also lodged a bid though only to experience rejection. The promising defender did a good job at the backline. Besic returned to Everton’s starting lineup but was withdrawn after only nine minutes for what looked like a hamstring injury and Naismith was introduced.
Early Opener
The Scotland international leaved his impact soon after his introduction. The 28-year old produced his first goal with a brilliant header after ripping through the defence following a clever turn to create amount of space required. It was a nice treat to the home crowd, with 17 minutes into the match.
Mourinho slotted Asmir Begovic in place of injured Thibaut Courtois. The visiting side should be grateful to the Bosnian as he did two brilliant saves very quickly to prevent further assault for his employer. At first, he denied Arouna Kone who shot a close-range header and then frustrated James McCarthy by jumping to his right.
Second Came Quickly

However, the travelling glovesman could do nothing to stop Begovic from notching up his second goal in the show. He produced a fine 20-yard left-footed shot to hit the far corner of the net within five minutes of the opener.

Chances for Chelsea

The visitors had their first opportunity when Cesar Azpilicueta evaded the offside trap but Stones rushed across to castigate his effort. The Blues found no end to their struggling as Everton defence looked stronger and more organized. However, thanks to Matic, they heaved a sigh of relief and came back into the match when he bent his 20-yard drive away from host goalie Tim Howard who looked desperate to maintain a clean sheet.

Eden Hazard almost closed the gap just before the break. He tapped into a pass from Diego Costa who showed his skill but Hazard’s shot sailed narrowly wide off the mark.

Second Half

The match resumed at a patchy pace after interval. Romelu Lukaku had a chance to restore the lead for Everton but his firing from inside the penalty area went straight at Begovic. Several players were thrown into the match by Mourinho but nothing saved the day for him. Naismith came up with his third following his finishing touch to an intelligent reverse-pass from Ross Barkley.

La Liga Football News – Real Madrid vs Real Betis

This write-up is about La Liga football news from the match between Real Madrid vs Real Betis played on 30th August, 2015.
The second week of La Liga went much smoother for Real Madrid. They got back their lost rhythm following a scoreless draw with Sporting in the first week. And what a comeback it was for the Los Blancos! They hosted Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu and humiliated them by clinching a massive 5-0 victory over the guests.
Here is hot La Liga football news from Real Madrid vs Real Betis face-off.

Early Assault

They started and finished with style in front of packed stadium at their home ground. It was a challenge for them to get back to the track and they did it in an effortless but eye-catching way. And it was a delicious performance that the home fans were treated to.
The home team looked aggressive from the starting and with just two minutes on the clock, they got their name on the scoreboard.
It was James who first controlled the ball before whipping it towards Gareth Bale and the Welsh international produced a solid finishing just from outside of the penalty area. It was the first La Liga goal for the former Spurs winger during this current season.
The white troop built up more pressure and was almost closer to the second strike just a minute later. James shone again with his pass but Benzema failed to kick it past Adan despite being in a one-on-one situation. The hosts were cheerful and pumped in more effort to embellish the scoreline. More opportunities they crafted but all were not converted.
Another chance arrived on 5th minute and involved Cristiano Ronaldo. The talisman blasted a powerful free kick but the travelling keeper managed to save the danger with his fingertips. Ronaldo was frustrated the second time on 35th minute.
James played just like a magician, coming up every time with a new creative touch. He had an assist in the first goal and for the second, he took all the troubles. Just before the break, the Columbian played a trick by pretending to send a cross but came as a shocker with his venomous strike off the woodwork on 39th minute.

Dream Show in Second Half

The first half was just a harbinger for what the second half had in store for the visiting side as well as home faithful. The entire team got involved in a wonderful show and with synchronized pace.
The third came due to Bale-Benzema connection, with the former being the creator and the later being the executor.
The only threat from the traveling side came in the first half but Real Keeper Navas did not fail to castrate it. The Madrid club claimed their control over the match and the fourth was added to their score-chart when Jose carved out an excellent performance on the 50th minute. He picked up a long-distance shot from Kroos and whipped it into the net with a spectacular bicycle kick.
Navas showed a piece of his brilliance by frustrating a penalty kick by Ruben Castro on 60th minute. Bale rounded up his team’s score with a 20-yard shot on 89th minute. The ball first glanced off the woodwork before making its way beyond the line.

Barclays Premier League is popularly referred to as English Premier League. Barclays Premier League fixtures of 2015/16 season have already started and it is now three-week old. City have a solid start to the campaign and clinched their third straight victory by blowing Everton 2-0. The Citizens now claim the top spot on the Premier League table list.

City Campaign

They came victorious at the Goodison Park on Sunday. City were full of tempo following their win against defending Champions Chelsea in the second week of the Premier League.
The first firing arrived from Aleksandar Kolarov on an hour mark. However, the first attempt was made by the hosts when a Romelu Lukaku shot slammed the bar. David Silva saw his powerful shot rattling the woodwork.

Both the hosts and guests had a fair amount of chances in the opponents’ boxes. Sergio Aguero tried twice to open his personal account at the night but was frustrated by Everton keeper Tim Howard. Jesus Navas had a chance to save all points beyond doubt before the travelling side embellished their scoreline, this time, via Samir Nasri.
The Frenchman put all hopes of Everton to bed with an 88th-minute strike. Nasri was benched off and slotted the ball to Toure just on the edge of the penalty box. The Ivory Coast international played it back to him with a beautiful cut and Nasri blasted the shot beyond Howard’s reach.

Other News

The Blues have a disappointing start to this season following a draw with Swansea City and 3-0 loss to Manchester City.

Get Familiar with European Football News & Transfer

Football, without any shadow of doubt, is the most popular game worldwide. European football is most exciting and gets largest number of viewers throughout the globe.
The die-hard football fans never want to miss European football news. Those, who are professional in the world of betting, always keep a close tab on match reports as well as transfer news.
Transfers in European football take place twice a year – in summer and winter. Those transfer seasons are best known as summer transfer window and winter transfer window. The first one spans over a longer time – from early July to early September – whereas winter transfer happens only in January. Understandably summer transfer is more important for the European football clubs.

European Football – Most Important Leagues

Every soccer-playing country in Europe has its own league. These leagues feature a tier system though here, we will keep our focus fixed only on top-tier system i.e. first division football. Leagues in four countries are most important and most talked about. These are – Barclays or English Premier League, Spain League or La Liga, Italian League or Serie A and German League or Bundesliga.

Transfer News

All of these leagues start almost at the same time and follow the same system of promotion and relegation.
Usually the clubs playing first-division football always do business with the clubs playing only in the top-tier league in any country while buying and exchanging players. However, for the extremely talented players, they also contact second or third division clubs.
Sometimes the clubs swap the players between themselves. Such transaction may or may not involve money, depending on the transfer value of the players. Loan transfer also takes place. Out-of-favor players or youngsters are often shipped out on a loan to other clubs to make improvement. After expiry of loan, they either reunite with their parent clubs or pen a permanent contract with the clubs they were loaned out to, depending on the contract rules and players’ performance.

Conclusion

European football transfer news is something every football faithful loves to devour. The clubs get busier to revamp their side by offloading non-performers and signing the best players as per their financial flexibility.

Summer transfers still in full flow with involvement of big-ticket players

The summer transfer window this year has proven to be a mammoth with some of the biggest names in world football jumping ship or rumoured to do so.  So we bring you some of the latest developments that have taken place in the world of club football.

Putting an end to much speculation about his future, Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal has signed for German club Bayern Munich on Tuesday. Bayern have completed the transfer for a sum of €40 million in a deal struck with Vidal’s former club Juventus.
The Bundesliga champions had declared last week that they had struck a deal with the Bianconieri over Arturo Vidal. The news had set tongues wagging for Bayern fans and they can now heave a sigh of relief after the transfer was completed as Vidal has attracted much interest from clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal. The 28-year old midfield maestro touched down in Munich on Monday evening to successfully complete his medical to effectively seal the deal between the two clubs. The club had earlier tried to woo Vidal in 2011 while he was playing for Bayer Leverkusen but the Chile medio had decided to move to Juventus instead. In a press release, Vidal admitted it was a new step in his career and was a dream come true for him.

In other news, Paris St. Germain has bid £28.5 million for Manchester United and Argentina midfielder Angel Di Maria.
There have been strong rumours that Di Maria wants to leave Old Trafford and PSG have pounced on the possibility from Day 1. Coach Laurent Blanc is known to be an admirer of Di Maria’s on-field displays and has been proactive in trying to lure the midfielder over to the club. The negotiations have been set back by certain hitches but the PSG coach is confident of sealing the deal. While Blanc looks forward to signing the Manchester United midfielder, the Red Devils’ hopes of adding veteran Spanish defender Sergio Ramos to their roster is all but dashed. Ramos was earlier quite vocal about wanting to leave the club after severe miscommunication between the club’s officials and the player. But Ramos is now set to sign a new deal that will keep him at the club and leave the Old Trafford club high and dry. This puts United in a tight spot as it can either back down from their earlier stand and get altleast £20 million for the De Gea or let him go for nought next season when the time on his contract runs out.
But good news does await the Red Devils as Barcelona forward Pedro is inclined to join Manchester United for a reported figure of £20 million. While Van Gaal and Pedro are both excited about the transfer, Pedro getting more time on the first team and Van Gaal consolidating the frontline, Luis Enrique is not so excited about the transfer because of UEFA sanctions that restrict Barca from making new signings until next year. Alderweireld ‘Spur’ns top clubs to sign with Tottenham

In latest transfer news,Toby Alderweireld has become the toast of White Hart Lane after jumping ship successfully from his former club Atletico Madrid to London club Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham Hotspur completed the transfer for an undisclosed fee and have given the Belgian player a five year contract to rest on. The 26-year old completed a one-year loan spell with Southampton last season as the Saints finished seventh in the league, causing a few major upsets and playing some scintillating football.

The Belgian midfielder had earlier generated a lot of interest amongst top English clubs Manchester United and Arsenal before deciding to sign with the Spurs.
The Belgian started his professional career with the legendary Dutch club Ajax FC, where he spent nine seasons.
He helped Ajax clinch 3 Eredivisie titles during his stay. He bid goodbye to the Dutch giants in the year 2013 to sign with Atletico Madrid. He only stayed for one season with the Spanish club but spent the most eventful year of his career as Atletico won the Spanish La Liga and reached the finals of the UEFA Champions League in the same year, but losing out to hometown rivals Real Madrid in the final of the latter. He then moved to Southampton for the 2014-15 season, making 25 appearances and catching the attention of top clubs around Europe. The defender is happy to be a part of the Spurs team, saying it’s a dream come true for him. At Tottenham, Alderweireld will be united with his former teammates Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele, Nacer Chadli and Christian Eriksen.

Southampton, though, are not taking the summer transfer in their stride. The Saints have threatened legal action against Atletico as they believed they had the choice to buy the central defender back for an additional fee of £6.8 million, a clause in the earlier contract that would have cost Atletico £1.5 million to cancel. Spurs don’t seem to be worried though, and neither is Alderweireld, who is looking to do his best to put Tottenham in serious title contention in the upcoming season. Boca Juniors pull off a whammy with Tevez signing

Argentine football fans are no strangers to seeing prodigal sons returning to play for their former clubs. So it was music to the ears of Boca Juniors fans as they completed the signing of Carlos Tevez from Serie A champions Juventus last week. The club chose the perfect time to take the news public as it announced the deal during Argentina’s quarter-final victory over Colombia in the Copa America that boiled down to a penalty shootout and in which the deciding spot-kick was scored by Tevez.
The move was not the biggest surprise of the transfer window as Tevez has always been quite expressive about his wish to someday come back to play for the club where he made his professional debut. Tevez first left Boca to play for Corinthians at a then-record transfer fee of £15 million in the year 2005. From then on, the striker has led an illustrious club career, spending a seven-year spell in the Barclays Premier League with West Ham United, Manchester City and Manchester United. His spell at United was also highlighted by a rocky relationship with then-coach, the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson. But there is no doubting the 31-year old striker’s attacking instincts and striking prowess on the field. The forward scored 19 goals in 63 games for Manchester United and 58 goals in 113 appearances for Manchester City.

Tevez joined Juventus in 2013 in a £10 million deal that made him the centerpiece of a revamped Juventus attack that has enthralled Italian football aficionados for the last 2 years.
The striker played a major part in Juventus’ Serie A success as well, scoring 20 goals in the course of leading Juventus to their fourth straight Serie A title. The striker added seven more to his tally in a span of 13 games in the Champions League as Juventus reached the final, eventually losing out to a star-studded Barcelona side.

Recent examples of Argentines coming home to play for their old side includes Javier Saviola and Lucho Gonzalez, who have also announced their homecoming in the same week as Tevez. The striker’s return to his former club is at a time when he is still in his prime and shown dazzling form for Juventus and isn’t just another mid or late thirties signing when he cannot contribute much to the club but morale. So in a way, Boca have landed quite a coup by signing Tevez over and can look to revive their supremacy over the domestic football circuit.

Chelsea laps up all the action in summer transfer window

As the summer transfer season moves ahead, the Blues seem to be right in the middle of the action. In the latest transfer news for Chelsea, it seems the club has accepted the deal offered by Arsenal worth £14 million for goal custodian Petr Cech. The ‘keeper has spent most of the last season on the bench as Chelsea brought in Belgian Thibaut Courtois in in his place.
Due to the fact that he has been demoted to a primarily substitute position at Chelsea, it seems Cech has no qualms about leaving the club despite having earned near-legend status amongst fans at Stamford Bridge. Principal owner Roman Abramovich has given the nod to Cech’s move despite Mourinho having his own reservations about the custodian moving do a direct rival and title contender. The move has also prompted retired captain John Terry to state that Cech could save Arsenal more than 12 points a season, a statement that cements Cech’s reputation in football circles.

Continuing the summer’s trend of old-timers leaving the Blues to find greener pastures, it seems John Obi Mikel, who joined the club in 2006, is finally going to switch to UAE side Al-Ain.
The terms of the deal or transfer figures have not been disclosed yet, but it seems Mourinho is finally ready to place the faith that he has so consistently placed on Mikel, on someone else. While any loyalists would be teary-eyed to see the back of Mikel, a number of fans would breathe a sigh of relief, often having wondered what Mourinho saw in the Nigerian midfielder.

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, who displayed sizzling form in the second half of the last season, seems to have caught the fancy of Chelsea boss Mourinho, who wants to add the striker to the list even though the word is that Radamel Falcao is almost ready to make a move to the current Premier League champions. The striker is not too keen on signing a new contract at Villa Park. And with Liverpool unwilling to meet his £32 million release clause, Chelsea have emerged as front runners to land the rising star.  Please follow us on Facebook.
